Earlier in the day, the BJP had released its second list comprising 12 candidates, including singer Maithili Thakur from Alinagar and former IPS officer Anand Mishra from Buxar. The first list, released on Tuesday, named 71 candidates, including Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, hailing from Tarapur and Lakhisarai respectively, and six state ministers.

As per the seat-sharing deal announced by BJP’s Bihar election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan, the BJP and JD(U) will contest on 101 seats each, while the Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party will field candidates in 29 constituencies.

Elections to the 243-member Bihar Assembly will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with counting scheduled for November 14.
