A woman seen on home surveillance video being forcibly taken by a man in Wichita, Kansas, has been found safe, police said Tuesday.

Investigators said they received a call around 3 p.m. from a woman claiming to be the person they were seeking to identify. Detectives responded to her location, confirmed her identity and brought her to City Hall for an interview, according to a news release from the Wichita Police Department.

Police identified her as a 35-year-old woman who lives in the neighborhood where a homeowner’s Ring doorbell camera recorded the video. She did not suffer serious injuries, police said.

“We would like to thank the public for sharing the video and still images which generated additional attention to this incident,” police said in the release. “We believe this led to the woman calling us to say she was the person we were looking for.”

Police said there was no indication of any ongoing danger to the general public. The investigation continues and the case will be presented to the relevant prosecutor’s office for review.

At a news conference Tuesday morning, Wichita police asked for the public’s help in identifying the individuals, offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the identification of any of the people in the video.
