The Sensex is up over 230 points, with the 30-share index inching closer to the 82,000 mark. Dr Reddy, Tata Steel, HCLTech, JSW Steel, Sun Pharma and Adani Enterprises are among the top gainers.
Sensex today | Live Stock Market Updates: Indian markets are trading on a cautious note, with the Nifty index up around 90 points. The index is now trading just around the 25,150 mark. So far this week, the Nifty index has managed to defend the 25,000 mark thanks to IT stocks, which have been the only sectoral winners.
The Sensex is also up almost 200 points, trying to hold on to the 81,800 mark. This comes on a crucial day, as India’s largest IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), will release its results after market hours today, thereby kicking off the proceedings for the second quarter earnings season.
Some of the biggest gainers among Nifty 500 stocks are Hindustan Copper, PG Electroplast, Jindal Saw, PTC Industries, GMDC, Usha Martin and Granules, among others.
Along with TCS, Tata Elxsi and GM Breweries will also publish their results. Today is also the weekly options expiration of all ESB contracts.
