Mamkootathil faced an investigation by the internal party after actress Rinini Ann George accused “a young leader” of a well -known political party of bad conduct and subsequent manifestations of the BJP and the DYFI.
The deputy for Palakkad had previously resigned from the post of president of the State Youth Congress.
On August 20, Rinini said that a young leader of an eminent political party regularly sent his offensive messages and even invited her to a hotel. “I decided to speak as I saw recently on social networks that many women have faced similar problems. None of these women are talking about it. So I thought about talking for everyone,” she said.
Shortly after, Honey Bhaskaran, a writer, made similar allegations against Mamkootathil. In an article on Facebook, she alleged that he had constantly sent her, then distorted their talks to others.
George also said that she had informed party management on the incident, saying that the spouses and daughters of many politicians had similar experiences with the chief.
