9 children, ages 12-17, arrested in connection with 35 robberies in Oakland, Piedmont, El Cerrito

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) — Police say nine children between the ages of 12 and 17 have been arrested in connection with 35 robberies across Oakland.
Earlier this week, officers spotted a vehicle that was wanted in connection with one of those thefts and followed it to the 100 block of 14th Street. According to the police, several people got out of the car and went to a nearby “establishment”.

When police arrived, the suspect vehicle took off at high speed. OPD’s helicopter followed the car from above and saw four people get out of the car and start running. Officers were able to quickly catch up with the suspects and take them into custody.
According to the police, the officers also arrested five people who were in the old “establishment”.

Three girls and six boys were arrested, eight of whom are Oakland residents.
