84-year-old man found dead in Bronx golf pond: cops

An 84-year-old man was found dead in a pond at a Bronx golf course Friday afternoon, police said.

Police received a 911 call shortly after 2 p.m. for a water rescue after receiving reports of an unresponsive and unresponsive man floating in the water at the Pelham Bay and Split Rock golf courses.

An unattended golf cart was located next to the pond, cops said.

The elderly man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His identity is being withheld pending notification of family.

The man’s cause of death is still under investigation, but police said foul play is not suspected at this time.

The Post has reached out to Pelham Bay and Split Rock Golf Course officials for comment.
