Eight people were shot on Tuesday and 14 people were shot on Monday in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s Chicago (R).
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that seven people were shot and wounded on Tuesday and one person was shot dead.
The death occurred at 12:45 am, when Brandon Gray, 29, was shot in the head “in the 200 block of West 107th Street”.
He was rushed to hospital and pronounced dead.
NBC 5 notes that ten people were shot and wounded on Monday and four people were shot dead.
The first of four gunshot deaths occurred at 1:45 am, when a “49-year-old man was shot and killed on a ramp leading to the Bishop Ford Expressway on the Far South Side.”
The second gunshot death occurred around 10:15 am, after someone jumped out of a vehicle “in the 8100 block of South Evans Avenue” and opened fire on a 24-year-old man. The man was rushed to hospital and pronounced dead.
A 30-year-old man was killed in the third shooting death of the day. He had a “verbal altercation” with someone “in the 2200 block of 121st Street West” and then gunshots rang out. The 30-year-old was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.
The fourth fatal shooting happened at around 8 p.m. on Monday, as a 29-year-old man was purchasing parts for his vehicle. He was “in the 1400 block of West 95th Street” when he was approached by two men and shot in the chest. He was pronounced dead in hospital.
HeyJackass.com observes that 35 people were shot dead in Chicago from Mayor Lightfoot at this point in September.
