7 denim trends to try this spring

While time warms up and spring begins to flower, we lose layers and enter lighter styles. Each new season gives the opportunity to rethink your personal style, and the backbone of any good wardrobe is an excellent jeans.

This spring, we see several new silhouettes emerging. After several years of hibernation, skinny jeans are back, having honored tracks at the same time this month of February fashion and the last, from Diesel to Miu Miu. But more curved styles also come back – although the Super Bowl is rarely a source of style inspiration, the choice of Kendrick Lamar by Jean de Bootcut Celine for his program at halftime led a huge peak in research on Google for flared jeans in the days that followed. And the lengths reach new extremes, with capris at one end and a denim that come together around the feet of the other.

The line by the line here is nostalgia. Poussers of inspiration from the 1960s to the Flare jeans of the 2010s, the great thing about this spring denim trends is that you probably have a lot at the back of your cupboard. Here are seven styles to try this season.

Jean Bootleg

Since Kendrick Lamar went on the Superbowl scene in a perfect pair of jeans – who took the thighs, broke out in front of the knee and slightly Baggy at the hem – The Bootcut jeans appreciated a renaissance. They are a current bestseller for Wrangler, explains Vivian Rivetti, vice-president of the world design brand. The flattering silhouette helps lengthen the legs and looks great with a sharp shoe that comes out of the bottom. They are particularly raised in a dark washing.

“We also see a potential return of Skinny jeans after several years of wider cut jeans in the foreground of fashion,” explains Rivetti. And also controversial, the skinny jeans are ultra-polly. They are like the equivalent of a neutral color but for the silhouettes – whether you prefer an oversized high or something more adjusted, the discreet proportions of lean jeans go with everything.

Structured oversized jeans

Although boyfriend jeans Slouchy and Baggy have dominated in recent years, this spring, oversized jeans are taking new, more structured forms. This pair has a bubble hem, but we also see straight hems and seams in the center.

Capris

Capris came back in force last summer, after appearing in an autumn collection, the row and was spotted on street style stars like Emily Ratajakowski and Bella Hadid. Their first foray into the spotlight had more minimalist iterations, such as the simple black pairs made famous by Audrey Hepburn. But this season, Denim Capris calls. The ultra-harvest look makes the perfect transition pants when you want to show just a little leg.

The resurgence of raw denim and Selvidge means that we favor darker washes all around. The rich indigo color looks polite and a little more formal. This is the kind of denim that doesn’t look out of words at work or a good dinner.

Large leg jeans (ISH)

There is something universally flattering in wide leg jeans. It is a timeless form that goes with everything. (There is a pair that Dakota Johnson was carrying on a market of producers in 2019 that I still think of.) This season, the wide leg jeans lean in high height, with less than a rocket and more a soft extension of the waist.

Over the past decade, denim trends passed from ankle to paved around the feet. Now we have settled somewhere in the middle, with straight leg jeans with a thick and structured cuff. It is a small detail with a large impact, adding shape and texture to your daily jeans.
