$61 million Arts Village showcased at Irvine Valley College – Orange County Register

Irvine Valley College has launched its latest production.

It’s a large-scale project this time: a new $61 million arts village built on campus, which adds “high-end” studios, rehearsal spaces, a 150-seat auditorium and more. Moreover.

Three buildings include the addition of more than 62,000 square feet, a dedicated music and dance facility, another for visual arts and a fine arts building that includes a gallery — and school officials say that they are equipped with the latest technologies.

The Arts Village was celebrated Wednesday evening with an open day, with tours and a presentation of the work carried out by students and teachers.

In the auditorium, musicians played on two pianos under the stage spotlights. The college acquired 19 Steinway & Sons pianos – 12 grand pianos and seven upright pianos – at a cost of $1.2 million and can now boast of being an all-Steinway school, officials said.
