New York – The best producer at “60 minutes” said on Tuesday that he was leaving the show, saying that he became clear that he would no longer be able to execute it as he did in the past.
In a memo to staff members, Bill Owens wrote that he would not be able to make independent decisions according to what is good for the public.
“Having defended this show – and what we defend – from all angles, over time and with everything I could, I retire so that the show can move forward,” he wrote in memo, reported for the first time by the New York Times.
The program was attacked by President Donald Trump, who continued the network from $ 20 billion for the way he published his interview with Kamala Harris last fall. CBS business leaders have discussed potential regulations with Trump that Owens and other people on the show resisted.
