President Donald Trump has targeted transgender and non -binary people with a series of decrees since his return to functions.
He did it with strong language. In an executive decree, he said that “mutilated health professionals and sterilize an increasing number of impressable children under the radical and false complaint that adults can change the sex of a child.”
This is a spectacular reversal of the administration policies of former president Joe Biden – and major medical organizations – which supported affirmative care.

The lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union, Sruti Swaminathan, said that to be put into force, the provisions of the orders should first go through federal regulatory procedures, which can last for years and include the possibility of comments of the public.
“When you have the commander -in -chief of the nation demonizing transgender people, this certainly sends a signal to all Americans,” said Sarah Warbelow, legal director of the human rights campaign.
Things to know about Trump’s actions:
The first day of Trump back to power, he issued a scanning order which reported a major change in the way in which his administration would deal with transgender people and their rights.
He calls into question their existence by saying that the government would only recognize two unchanging sexes: women and men.
The goal declared is to protect women. “The efforts to eradicate the biological reality of sex fundamentally attack women by depriving them of their dignity, their security and their well-being,” said order.
The document calls on government agencies to use new sex definitions and stop using taxpayers money to promote what he calls “gender ideology”, the idea widely accepted by medical experts that the sex falls along a spectrum.

Federal agencies were quickly compliant. Andrea Lucas, acting president of the employment opportunities commission in the United States, for example, announced this week that it would remove the identity pronouns of the online profiles of employees and prohibit the gender marker “x” For those who deposit discrimination costs.
“Biology is not fanaticism. Biological sex is real, and it is important, “said Lucas in a press release.
Friday, information on what Trump calls “gender ideology” has been deleted from federal government websites and the term “gender” was replaced by “sex” to behave by order. The Bureau of Prisons has ceased to report the number of transgender imprisoned people and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has deleted lessons on the creation of support for transgender and non -binary students.
Researchers have found that less than 1% of adults identify as transgender and less than 2% are intersex, or born with physical features that do not correspond to typical definitions for men or women.
In order calling for a new federal definition of the sexes, Trump has included specific cases in which policy should be changed, including passports.
The State Department quickly stopped granting new or updated passport requests with gender markers who do not comply with the new definition.
The agency no longer publishes the documents with an “X” only some people who identify as requires neither male nor female and will not honor requests for modification of gender markers between “M” and “F” for the transgender people.
The option to choose “X” has been removed from online passport request forms on Friday.
Aclu says he is considering a trial.
Trump’s initial order called transgender women to the federal guard to be transferred to male prisons. Warbelow, from the human rights campaign, said that his organization had received lawyer reports that some have been.
The federal prisons office did not immediately respond to requests for information on these movements.
There were at least two legal proceedings to block politics. In one, a federal judge said that a transgender woman in a Massachusetts prison should be accommodated with the general population of a woman’s prison and continue to receive medical care for the moment.
Trump paved the way for the ban on transgender people in the army, ordering the defense secretary Pete Hegseth to propose a new policy on the issue by the end of March.
In the executive decree, the president said that being transgender “comes into conflict with a soldier’s commitment to an honorable, truthful and disciplined lifestyle, even in his personal life”.

Trump prohibited members of the Transgender Service during his first mandate, but a court blocked the effort.
A group of active soldiers quickly continued the new order this week.
Trump called on to interrupt the use of federal money to support medical care stating the sexes for young transgender people under 19.
The care in question includes puberty blocking drugs, hormone therapy and surgery affirming sex, which is rare for minors.

If it is fully implemented, the order would reduce government health insurance, including Medicaid and Tricare, which serves the families of the military, for treatments.
He also calls on congress to adopt a law against care, although this happens concerns legislators.
Twenty-six states have already adopted laws prohibiting or limiting care affirming the sexes for minors, so that the change could be smaller in these places.
Some hospitals have interrupted certain affirmative care for people under the age of 19 following the decree, while assessing how it could apply to them.
Another decree of this week aims to stop “radical indoctrination” in the country’s school system.
He calls on the Department of Education to propose a policy that blocks schools for the use of federal funds to support students who pass socially or use their study program to promote the idea that sex can be fluid, as that certain lessons on the breed.
The prescription would prevent schools from demanding that teachers and other school staff use names and pronouns that align themselves with the identification of the sex of transgender students rather than on the sex which has been assigned to the birth.
Some districts and states have adopted these requirements to prevent death, the practice of referring to transgender people who have changed their names by the name they used before their transition. It is widely considered insensitive, offensive or traumatic.
