Anderson said she had been to Wyoming several times.
“I think in general, he is underestimated as a state to visit tourism. It is obviously popular because of the Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton,” she said. “But you don’t really hear about people except that.”
South of the nipples in Wyoming, the Wind River channel offers a similar experience and is much less congested, Anderson said. For maximum intimacy, Anderson recommends launching a tent in free campsites in the Green River Lakes region, as she did in July 2024.
“You have to prepare because it is distant, there is no service and we have taken a dirt road to get there,” she said. “But there is no one else. You can go swimming, and the landscapes are so beautiful.”
Medicine Bow National Forest is another destination underestimated in southern Wyoming.
“We went there in the summer of 2023, and they have incredible lakes and mountain peaks that made me surprise that it was not more popular,” said Anderson.
