Elon Musk told investors to expect Tesla sales to increase this year – but the fall in sales in several countries around the world complicates this objective.
While the Y de Tesla model continues to be a highest seller in the world and British sales increased in February, some of Tesla’s wider sales figures on other markets seemed dark – the type of decreases from one year to another which should worry the CEO.
Take Germany, for example, where Tesla sales last month dropped from 76% from one year to the next, with 1,429 vehicles sold, despite global sales in the country up 31%, according to data from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority.
The Tesla sales crisis in the country is not isolated in a single month either. He followed a drop in January in the middle of the strong approval by the far -right AFD party leading to the country’s February 23 elections.
Tesla sales also decreased in several other European countries last month.
In February, Tesla sales in Norway and Denmark fell 48% from one year to the next.
Sale sales have decreased by more than 40% from one year to the next.
Tesla sales in France last month also decreased by 26% in annual sliding, with 2,395 vehicles sold, an increase of 1,141 teslas sold in January, according to the French Industry Group Platform. The drop in sales of Tesla in February also came while the country experienced an overall decrease in car sales by 0.7%.
Teslas sales made in China also took a hit in February. The giant EV sold 30,688 vehicles manufactured in China in February, its lowest number since August 2022. It is a drop of 49% from one year to the next in China, and it occurs when its Chinese rival byd recorded a 90.4% increase in vehicle sales the same month.
After updating the teslas sales made in China, the company’s stock dropped by around 4% at the start of negotiation on Tuesday before increasing around 1.8% on Wednesday afternoon. After several months of overvoltage following the presidential victory of Donald Trump, Tesla’s shares are negotiated by 28% in February.
Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comments from Business Insider.
While Tesla has faced growing competition on the electric vehicle market in recent years, some investors have also shared concerns that Tesla could have in part because of Musk’s involvement in global policy and the position in the administration of President Donald Trump with Doge.
In recent weeks, a number of “Tesla Takedown” events have occurred in various cities in the world in response to its political involvement, the demonstrators urging Tesla owners to sell their vehicles.
In a likely effort to stimulate sales of its most expensive cybertrtruck models, the EV giant offers a free charge for the entire property period for cybertrucks in the series of foundations of almost $ 100,000.
