A 29-year-old driver struck and killed a pedestrian near the intersection of Tennyson Road and Lustig Court in south Hayward Friday evening.
Paramedics pronounced the victim, a 56-year-old man, dead at the scene, Hayward police said in a news release.
The driver is cooperating with the investigation. The names of the driver and victim are currently being withheld until police can notify next of kin.
This is Hayward’s fourth fatal collision so far this year.
