“Thank you all! Cancer is terrible, but good things like this help us get through the tough times!”
In late April, the family of Brittany Bliss, a newly 5-year-old cancer patient, made an Instagram post asking anyone who wanted to send her a little birthday care to send a letter to their PO box in South Hadley.
On Friday, a day before the big day, Bliss had a birthday card from all 50 states.
“We filled the map! Brittney’s birthday card collection has been amazing! Kind words! Funny cards and sweet gestures brought us so much joy and even tears of happiness!! Thank you all! Cancer is terrible, but good things like this get us through the tough times!” her mother wrote in the caption of the Instagram post celebrating the milestone.
For the past month, Brittany’s mother, Elena, has been posting progressive updates on the card’s home states. These updates always accompanied the communication of how upset she was by the response.
“Battling cancer for a year and being very aggressive for the past few months has brought so much happiness to our little girl, she smiles so much as she opens up and hears the kind words everyone wrote!!” she wrote in a caption.
