“Captain America: Brave New World” (Pvod)

To watch
The latest film by Captain America by Marvel held the crown for the most profitable film of the year until “a Minecraft film” struck it with its throne faster than you can say “Chicken Jockey”. “Brave New World” does not do much to shake the MCU of his crisis, but fans who want to stay up to date on tradition in front of “Thunderbolts” are now lucky to look at him from home.
“A Brave New World” sees Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) take fully the Captain America’s coat after a trial behind the Disney Plus series “Falcon and the Winter Soldier”. But escaping the shadow of Steve Rogers’ inheritance will not be easy.
This time, Sam is joined by a new acolyte: the first Lieutenant of the Air Force Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez). When President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford) sends the duo to intercept the villain Sidewinder (Giancarlo Esposito) and his team of mercenaries to sell a stolen classified technology, the mission quickly turns into a large -scale conspiracy – the one who threatens to plunge the whole world into chaos.

“Companion” (max)

To watch
“Companion” looks like a twisted pleasure and folded to the genre that I can certainly be late. Once I saw that he is led by the star of “Yellowjackets” Sophie Thatcher, I knew I had to add it to my surveillance list this weekend.
“Companion follows” Iris (Thatcher) and his boyfriend Josh (Jack Quaid), a perfect couple on a weekend getaway with friends in a distant cabin belonging to the eccentric billionaire Sergey (friend Rupert).
However, things take a disturbing turn when the iris appears one morning, soaked with blood. What starts as a relaxing retirement quickly shies away from something much more dangerous.
Mix the charm of Rom-Com with fatty sensations and a good dose of dark humor, “companion” makes you guess each turn. It is a closely injured mystery which takes place with Twist after Twist – and trust us, it is a film that you will want to enter with as little prior knowledge as possible.

‘Wolf Man’ (Paon)

To watch
“The Invisible Man” is one of my favorite horror films of all time, so I was impatient to see the director Leigh Whannell come back to the Universal Monsters catalog with his latest film, “The Wolf Man.”
Unfortunately, it did not resonate with me in the same way, but I agree with my colleague that there is enough meat on the bone here that “The Wolf Man” will keep fans of horror committed and unstable.
The story follows Blake Lovell (Christopher Abbott), a husband and a father who inherits his childhood home back in rural Oregon after the disappearance of his distant father.
Joined by his wife (Julia Garner) and his daughter (Sam Jaeger), Blake’s Homecoming takes a terrifying turn when a mysterious creature the embuse, scratching him in the process.
As night falls, Blake begins to undergo horrible physical changes, and it quickly becomes clear that these woods are as dangerous as dangerous, the real threat could already be inside.

‘The room next door’ (Netflix)

To watch
Prepare to feel your feelings. Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton play like Ingrid and Martha distant friends in “The Room Next Doort”, another of the most neglected films of last year.
After years to disconnect, friends once inseparable reconnect when Martha is struggling with terminal cancer. While she accepts her diagnosis, Martha trusts Ingrid with a request that is anything but simple: being her companion in her last days.
She decides to go out according to her own conditions, and the two praise a charming but distant cabin where Martha is determined to die.
This offbeat drama establishes a delicate balance, just using the right amount of humor to prevent it from becoming too dark.
While “the piece next door” is undeniably melancholy, under the heavy subject is a hope and a desire to embrace the present which is sure to leave the viewers deeply moved.

‘Order’ (Hulu)

To watch
The mood of a criminal thriller? Hulu now houses the real inspiration thriller by director Justin Kurzel “The Order” – and it is perhaps the best film of 2024 that you have not heard of.
He followed the experienced agent of the FBI, Terry Husk (Jude Law), whose investigation into a wave of violent theft in the 1980s reveals a frightening conspiracy aimed at overthrowing the federal government.
At the center of all this is “The Order”, a white supremacist group led by Bob Matthews of Nicholas Hoult, a boy from the countryside whose charm denies his ruthless program. Husk assembles a working group alongside the local policeman Jamie Brown (Tye Sheridan) to put an end to madness, but while attacks degenerate both in frequency and brutality, Husk finds himself locked up in a dangerous game of cats and mice.
“Order” skillfully inspires a real story of a different era, offering a scary comment on the rise of extremism which resonates more than ever. Both captivating and dark, it’s a film that has an emotional punch, so get warned.
