5 best new films to broadcast this weekend on Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max and more

We are in the heart of summer, and I don’t know about you, but I prefer to stay and enjoy a few films to cook by this heat outside. The best streaming services are to make this decision even easier with tons of new films to entertain you. So say goodbye to Sunblock and hello to this glorious and glorious AC!

Netflix is back with a double functionality of original films this week: the criminal thriller “Night Always Come”, which seems to be infallible for fans of “Straw” by Tyler Perry, and the Roundée R-Rated “Fixed” comedy. Meanwhile, HBO Max has a more family adventure with “The Legend of Ochi”, and you can consult the new polarizing western comedy by Ari Aster “Eddington” on video platforms on demand. What attracted my attention the most is “he feeds” by Hulu, a horror film in the same vein as “It follows” and “Insidious” which will probably haunt my nightmares for weeks.

So, without further delay, let’s dive into the best new streaming movements to add to your surveillance list. If none of these elements made you happy, be sure to consult our guide for the best television shows this week as well.

‘Eddington’ (Pvod)

I was not a fan of the latest film by director Ari Aster, “Beau Is Great”, but his last “Eddington” had a promising sufficient premise – a neo -Western black comedy in the first days of COVVI -19 – to prick my interest. In addition, he has Pedro Pascal, and who does not like Pedro Pascal? Although “Eddington” does not reach the same peaks as Aster’s first successes as “Hereditary” and “Midsomomar”, I always appreciated it.

It is a hilarious and unwavering reflection of the division that tears America which takes surprising care to humanize both sides. Either the anti-masque sheriff of Joaquin Phoenix, Joe Cross, or the liberal mayor of Pascal, Ted Garcia, could have been easily constituted in caricature, but are rather painted as well-informed people, although the defective people do their best. Without entering the territory of Spoiler, my greatest reproach is to know how the third act takes a hard pivot towards horror, which he does not really shine, and puts an end to a confusing note.

‘Fixed’ (Netflix)

Genndy Tartakovsky is the visionary host behind programs like “Samurai Jack”, “Star Wars: Clone Wars” and “Primal”. The new animated comedy of Netflix “Fixe” is its passionate project for several decades carried out.

But do not confuse this with family entertainment simply because he has cartoons dogs – “fixed” wins his rating R with a lot of raw humor, sexual innuendo and excited canine shenanigans. Think more of “Fritz the cat” that “all dogs go to paradise”.

The story follows a Mutt named Bull (Adam Devine), who has a quarantine crisis when he learns that he should be sterilized the next morning. Determined to go out with a blow instead of a groan, he leaves with his friends, a boxer named Rocco (Idris Elba) and Dckhund Fetch (Fred Armisen), on a last wild jack to sow his oats before he reaches the shooting.

It is a film Doggie Road Trip in the vein of “The Hangover” with the expressive animation of Classic Looney Tunes, in particular the work of Tex Avery.

‘The Legend of Ochi’ (HBO Max)

For a In fact The family film this weekend, “The Legend of Ochi” by Isaiah Saxon is worth checking instead. This A24 adventure takes us to a quiet village on the island of Carpathia, where Yuri (Helena Zengel), a young girl learned to fear the mysterious creatures known as Ochhi, stumbled on a injured baby who was left by his own genre. Determined to return it home, she goes on a trip that changes her life forever.

Do not be fooled by his beautiful critters, however. Although it has a lot of fantasy and wonder, “The Legend of Ochi” also goes to fairly dark places with emotionally weight moments, which makes it more suitable for older kids.

A score of 76% of criticisms on rotten tomatoes suggests that he did not conquer everyone, although there have been many praise for the design of his titular creatures. The ochis are animated by the old -fashioned puppet rather than by CGI, giving the film a retro charm that will bring parents back to children’s food (also strangely dark) from the 80s and 90s.

“ Night always comes’ (Netflix)

Netflix brought it out of the park with its original range of films this summer, and its latest criminal thriller “Night Always Come” has all the heads of another out -of -competition success. This gives me great “straw” vibrations.

The normal to the Oscars and the star of “Fantastic Four” Vanessa Kirby plays a woman in a race against time in a last effort to save her family’s house. The capture? It only has one night to find $ 25,000.

As the hours run, she tracks old debts, hanging on the hope that it will be enough to keep a roof on the head of her family. New threats, old ghosts and risky regimes threaten to break it in a convincing history on the cost of security and desperate extremes, we will grasp it.

“Night Always Come” also has a starred set distribution which includes Jennifer Jason Leigh, Julia Fox and Michael Kelly.

‘It feeds’ (hulu)

Horror films rarely get their these criticisms that each time you manage a solid score on Rotten Tomatoes, I tend to add it to my surveillance list. This is how “It Feeds” landed on my radar after winning an impressive 88%, and it looks like another winner in what has already been a stellar year for horror films.

The story follows Cynthia (Ashley Greene), a psychic psychiatrist who has trouble raising her young daughter, Jordan (Ellie O’Brien) while she struggles with her own demons. When a young girl (Shayelin Martin) burst into their house, saying that a malicious entity feeds on her, it is up to the mother-daughter duo to find a way to ban the entity before she consumes it completely.

“It Feeds” seems to be a cross between “it follows” and “insidious”, which are two of my favorite horror films, so it’s certainly the trouble to be checked if it is your taste.
