According to Disney, the Season 3 premiere of “The Bear” reached 5.4 million views in its first four days of airing.
Not only is this the best performance ever for an FX premiere on Hulu, it’s also the most-watched season premiere for a scripted series on Hulu. Including unscripted series, “The Bear” Season 3 is Hulu’s third-highest season premiere of all time. (Note: A view is calculated by dividing a title’s total viewing time by its runtime.)
Additionally, Disney says this puts “The Bear” Season 3 at 24% higher viewership than the original Season 2, which premiered during the same period. This marks a second consecutive season of growth for “The Bear,” which enjoyed surprise word-of-mouth success in Season 1 and grew its audience by 70% in Season 2.
The 5.4 million total viewership is split across Hulu as well as Hulu on Disney+ in the U.S. and Disney+ in international territories where the episode was available, though the episode is not yet available in some territories. Disney says Hulu on Disney+ gave the season a “significant boost” and that it achieved the largest Hulu premiere on Disney+ since the package launched on March 27.
