Eating a box of chickpeas a day could be the key to beating a large dangerous cholesterol – a main cause of heart disease and stroke.

A new intriguing study revealed that those who added the favorite preserved to their daily diet for a period of three months saw their levels behind the harmful fat fall in the normal beach.

There are two types –HDL, the good genre and LDL, of which too much is considered unhealthy.

Blood samples were taken at the start of the study, halfway and another six weeks later to follow cholesterol, blood sugar levels and inflammation.

The researchers also carried out a glucose tolerance test at the start and at the end of the study – the response of sugar participants.

At the end of the study, those who ate chickpeas daily experienced a significant decrease in cholesterol levels, from 200.4 mg per blood deciliter at the start of the study, at 185.8 mg at the end.

Total cholesterol levels greater than 200 mg / DL are considered high, while the lower figures are normal.

Those who eat black beans have also turned out to have lower inflammation levels after 12 weeks.

The researchers concluded: “Our study revealed that consumption of beans has helped to considerably reduce cholesterol and reduce inflammation in people with prediabetes”.

In a critical way, Professor Smith advised people who wanted to introduce beans in their daily diet to be prudent of any additional ingredient commonly found in products, such as salt or sugar, both linked to heart disease.

Nearly six million people in the United Kingdom suffer from diabetes, 90 pre-centuries of which are of type 2, but charity organisms estimate that 1.2 million people live with an unmatched disease.
