The 49ers of San Francisco selected the defensive line player Alfred Collins from the University of Texas with the 43rd choice of NFL 2025.
Collins played five seasons for Longhorns and was a stable presence on one of the most competitive defensive lines in the country. He won the second team of American honors of the Associated Press in 2024 and was appointed honorable all-Big 12 in 2023. During his career, he totaled 142 plated, 18 plated for the loss and 7.5 bags in 63 games with 26 departures.
At 6 ‘6’ ‘and 332 pounds, Collins impressed the scouts by its rare combination of size, power and athletics. He impressed the evaluators by his ability to disturb the crossing routes, collapse the pocket and have an impact on special teams, record seven shortcomings and a blocked kick in his last season.
