49ers 2024 schedule release reveals game dates, kickoff times and TV information – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

After a Super Bowl appearance, the 49ers were certain to be in the national spotlight again during the 2024 NFL season.

That much was made clear Wednesday, when the NFL announced the entire 2024 regular season schedule.

The 49ers are scheduled to appear twice each on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football,” ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” and Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football.” San Francisco’s six scheduled prime-time games include Thursday matchups against NFC West rivals the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams.

The 49ers’ most notable road games are scheduled for back-to-back Sundays when they travel to Green Bay for a Nov. 24 game against the Packers at Lambeau Field, followed by a Dec. 1 trip to face the Buffalo Bills for their second match. “Sunday Night Football” appearance.

These games – especially in Buffalo for an 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff – are likely to experience cold or inclement temperatures.

The 49ers’ first Sunday night game is October 27 against the Dallas Cowboys at Levi’s Stadium. The teams also met last season on “Sunday Night Football,” and the 49ers came away with a 42-10 victory.

As previously announced, the 49ers will open the season Monday night, September 9, against Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets at Levi’s Stadium. They are expected to return to the Monday night scene in Week 17 (Dec. 30), when they host the Detroit Lions.

The season-ending showdown is a repeat of the NFC championship game, also at Levi’s Stadium, in which the 49ers rallied from a 17-point halftime deficit for a 34-31 victory and advance to the Super Bowl .

The 49ers will have another chance against the Kansas City Chiefs this season in Week 7. The teams are scheduled to face off on Sunday, October 20 at Levi’s Stadium, with kickoff set for 1:25 p.m. PT ).

Kansas City is coming off three Super Bowl titles in five years, including two against San Francisco. The Chiefs won the Lombardi Trophy in February with a 25-22 overtime victory over the 49ers in Las Vegas.

San Francisco has the advantage of a long week before the game against Kansas City. The 49ers’ Week 6 game is scheduled for Thursday, October 10 in Seattle.

The 49ers will play another Thursday night game later in the season when the Los Angeles Rams come to Santa Clara on December 12.

The NFL has implemented a flexible scheduling system, in which the league can change the Sunday night game up to two times between Weeks 5 and 10 and at any time for the remainder of the season. Monday night games are subject to change from Weeks 12-17.

The 49ers’ final regular season game against the Arizona Cardinals, like all games in Week 18, will have to be played on either Saturday, January 4 or Sunday, January 5. But because the 49ers will play Monday night in Week 17, it seems unlikely they will be penciled in for a Saturday game.
