40-year-old pedestrian killed in Lemon Grove hit-and-run

A 40-year-old woman was struck and killed by a truck early Wednesday in Lemon Grove by a driver who failed to stop after the collision, sheriff’s officials said.

Someone called 911 to report a collision shortly after 12:30 p.m. and deputies found the victim near the intersection of Broadway and Harris Street. A witness told deputies the woman was hit by a truck, possibly a Ford F-150 pickup, which continued to drive, Sheriff Sgt. said Michael Power.

The woman died before she could be taken to hospital.

The name of the victim was not immediately released.

Lemon Grove traffic officers are investigating the crash.
