An explosion occurred on Monday near Kadena air base in the US military in the Japanese prefecture in southern Okinawa, slightly injuring four members of the Japan soil self -defense force who worked in a deposit, local ministry and defense officials said.
Ministry officials said there was an unidentified explosion while homeless personnel were preparing for bombs elimination operations, which caused people nearby fingers and possible hearing damage.
The explosion seems to have taken place in an SDF storage installation for bombs not exploded in the area of the base ammunition, said a source from the Ministry of Defense.
