“A physical examination of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 161 foil-wrapped packages hidden under the truck bed liner,” CBP said. “The contents of the packages tested positive for methamphetamine.”
CBP officers immediately arrested the driver and she was turned over to the Texas Department of Public Safety to face charges related to the failed smuggling attempt.
“This is a huge seizure that demonstrates the need for CBP officers to remain vigilant at all times,” said Hector Mancha, director of field operations for CBP El Paso. “CBP officers used a variety of tools to identify and arrest this smuggler.”
