’30 Rock’ Star Jack McBrayer Visits Wacky Homes in ‘Zillow Gone Wild’: ‘These Things Are Crazy’

He’s in the house.

Emmy-nominated actor Jack McBrayer, best known for playing perpetual optimist Kenneth Parcell on “30 Rock,” hosts the new HGTV show “Zillow Gone Wild.”

“This comes from the Instagram page created by our producer Samir Mezrahi. We tour some of the houses featured here,” McBrayer, 50, told the Post.

“I get a visit, and it’s really wild. Some of this stuff is crazy. My favorite part is meeting the owners… It’s one of those lessons you learn: there’s a lid for every pot. It was nice to meet the people behind these crazy houses and hear their story, like, “Now I understand why you decided to decorate your entire house like a pirate ship.” »

Airing Fridays (10:30 p.m.) and also broadcast on Max, the show follows McBrayer as he takes viewers to unusual and “wacky” homes.

Although the Instagram account has almost 2 million followers, McBrayer is not one of them.

“I’m what they call a tech idiot,” he said.

“I’m not on social media. But even apart from that, my only mission was to not check out the Instagram page, because they wanted me to see it and capture that reaction on camera. So if someone gives you a “No Homework” assignment, you say yes! »

Homes featured in the show include a dwelling in an abandoned missile silo, an old school mansion with a painting in the bedroom, a house that is said to have inspired Snow White’s cabin, and much more.

McBrayer visits a total of 24 homes.

He said he was unlikely to star in the series, aside from hosting it.

“An abandoned missile silo in a Nebraska cornfield – never in a million years would I look at that and say, “I want to live here!” But what was so fun is you find people where it’s exactly what they want,” he said.

He added: “Maybe I’m just a boring person. I see the Crate and Barrel catalog and I’m like, “Yeah, give me that.” It’s perfect for me, but my house will never be on “Zillow Gone Wild.”

McBrayer also stars in Jerry Seinfeld’s directorial debut, “Unfrosted,” a comedy (now streaming on Netflix) about the creation of the Pop Tart.

“I had worked with him before, on Season 2 of ’30 Rock’ in 2007,” McBrayer said.

“My character was just supposed to be hit by him. I was like, “Okay, good, that’s what I am!” But I remember one stupid joke in that scenario was that I was so starstruck that I couldn’t say anything, but I could only sing the theme from “Seinfeld.” But there are no words. I was like, “How is this supposed to happen?” and the writers were like, “Get it!” » (After humming it), I remember seeing Jerry Seinfeld rolling his eyes to the back of his head.

He said he was surprised by how many fans still come up to him, quoting Kenneth.

“What’s interesting is that the show hasn’t been on the air for 10 years. But what I forgot is that because the film is still streaming, the younger ones – who were kids when we were filming – can tune in. So, it’s crazy to me to see younger people who can quote “30 Rock.” Especially because sometimes I forget certain scenarios and quotes. So sometimes I just have to smile and nod. I’m really good at this!
