30 injured in more than 40 vehicles piled up on Pune-Bengaluru highway

The accident occurred on the naval bridge.

At least 30 people have been injured after a tanker rammed several vehicles at Pune Naval Bridge today. The crash resulted in a pile-up of 48 vehicles, a Pune fire department official said.
“A major road accident occurred at the Naval Bridge on the Pune-Bengaluru highway in Pune, in which approximately 48 vehicles were damaged. Rescue teams from the Pune Fire Department and the Development Authority of Pune Metropolitan Area (PMRDA) have arrived at the scene,” the official said. .

Rescue teams from the Pune Fire Department and the Pune Metropolitan Area Development Authority have arrived at the scene.
According to local media, the brakes of a tanker failed and it collided with several vehicles. In the accident, which reportedly happened at 9 p.m., oil spilled onto the road, making it slippery, causing other vehicles to be added to the pileup.

The accident caused traffic jams on Mumbai road with traffic jams of over 2 km reported.
Navle Bridge is becoming an accident hotspot in recent days. On Friday, a woman was killed after being hit by a speeding car near the bridge on the outer ring road.
