The quarter-Arrière Prospect Trae Taylor, one of the best passers-by in the 2027 recruitment class, announced its commitment to Nebraska on Thursday.
A coveted recovery of Mundelein, Illinois, Taylor becomes the first player engaged in the Huskers during the 2027 cycle, giving his verbal commitment about 20 months before he was eligible to sign formally. The 6-inch 3-inch pocket smuggler and 185 pounds follows the Ohio State the commitment of Brady Edmunds as the second quarter of an elite to announce his commitment in 2027.
Taylor has chosen the Cornhuskers on Illinois, LSU and Texas A&M. He is the son of the former ball carrier in eastern Illinois, Jr Taylor, who ran for 51 affected as a college teammate in the quarter-back-back to the NFL Pro Bowl Tony Romo from 1999 to 2002.
Trae Taylor launched for 3,061 yards with 20 affected and 7 second year interceptions at Carmel Catholic High School last fall. His commitment comes for days after spending time with the quarter of the Huskers Glenn Thomas and the quarter-Arrière who leaves Dylan Raiola during his last visit.
“Sits with coach Thomas and enter the offensive, see how he trains Dylan and how he can prepare me at the next level – I can’t wait,” Taylor told Espn. “For me, it’s a bit difficult to get involved too early because I have to wait so long to get there.”
Despite his first commitment, Taylor experienced a long recruitment – with him, believing that he has visited up to 70 campuses since he attended university camps in sixth year. Taylor received his scholarship offer from the first division I of Maryland a year later.
A launch movement and an exceptional legs and precision then transformed Taylor into one of the best quarters of the 2027 class.
After visiting Nebraska on March 27, Taylor then went to Texas A&M. He told ESPN that the attention he had received from Huskers immediately after visiting the Aggies – twinned with the NEBRASKA offensive program under the coach Matt Rhule – was part of the link that ultimately helped to influence his commitment to the Huskers.
“The day after my return from A&M, I was in contact with one of the Rhule coaches, coach Thomas and Dylan (Raiola) every day for the next two weeks before deciding that it was there that I had to be,” he said. “Everyone in this building has clearly indicated that they wanted me. Their attack suits me best-very pro-style. Any quarter who wants to go to the NFL can succeed there.”
Almost two years of the early signature period, Taylor said he did not intend to visit campuses other than Nebraska, but said he would continue to contact with other programs. There should be a target for people like Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Illinois and LSU, among others.
