After a break of two decades, BMW brought back the 8 series for the 2019 model year, which means that the Luxe Grand Tourer is now in its eighth model year. Apparently, it’s a long enough production series for BMW, so it’s almost time to send the second generation series 8 to the big parking lot in the sky. Before that, however, that said goodbye with the Heritage M850i Edition M850i 2026. Only 500 will never be built, so if you want one, you would better hurry and place your order.
While a lot of people will probably look at the photos and see an 8 red series, those who know how to recognize that it is the same bright red offered on the original E31 8 series. If this particular red is not your style, however, BMW will also offer four other E31 painting options, including Maurice Blue Metallic, Cosmos Black Metallic, Oxford Green Metallic and Daytona Violet Metallic. Customers will be able to order one of these colors at no additional cost, which is always appreciated, but here again, we are also talking about a special edition which $ 131,575, including the destination, you will therefore already pay for a nice penny for what is still an M850i.
However, you also get the carbon fiber roof M, the 20 -inch gray orbit wheels and the professional M Sport package, which adds sport brakes with black calipers, shadow lights and an extent -shaped exterior trim. Shadowline!
One of the 500
Inside, you get a few more special touches, including sports seats wrapped in the leather, individual black merino bmw and alcantara, as well as a ton of alcantara in the rest of the cabin and many theme contrast seams M. The central console obtains a matte carbon fiber finish, while the door thresholds and the car lids say ” Heritage “and” 1/500 “, so everyone knows that you have a special 8 series and not one of these boring colors and produced en masse in a boring color.
As it is always an M850i, you get a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 which is 523 horsepower and 553 pounds of torque. This power is sent to four wheels via an automatic transmission at eight speeds and should be sufficient to reach 60 MPH after a launch in less than four seconds. That said, this is also an entirely busy 850i, as BMW says in the press release, “features such as the Surround Bowers & Wilkins Diamond sound system and the professional driving aid package is included. The customer only needs to select an external color.” It is therefore practical.
Of course, these special editions are under construction thinking of collectors, so you must probably be deep enough in BMW World to buy one to have meaning. And with only 500 to do, you probably have to be even more deeply to obtain an allowance, but it is still cool enough that BMW brought back the original paint colors it offered on the E31 in 1989.
