Before each Detroit lions Game in 2025, we will provide readers with a depth table updated from the team’s list according to what we see during the practices.
For this pre -season match against the Miami dolphins, the Lions suggested that they plan to continue to rest their starters – they rested 28 players against the charges and 31 others against the Falcons, in particular with two joint practices earlier this week. So, in this spirit, expect at least the upper third of the list to the touch for this match.
To help your game viewing experience, here are some keys to keep in mind when exploring this depth painting:
Jared Goff (16)
Kyle Allen (8)
Hendon Hooker (2)
After two pre-season failures, Hooker must put himself on the right track in this game. Unfortunately, he will have to wait for his turn because Allen does not only play better (see the comments of the Lions coach Dan Campbell below), but it is in turn to start in the rotation.
“I thought Kyle (Allen) had played very well, guy, I was fired,” said Campbell about Allen’s performance against Falcons. “It was exceptional. (…) He comes out and immediately gives us a boost. Make the offensive, makes two huge throws in the first training he is in there. Dude, I thought he was about to the checks. The killed, the benchmarks of movement, the whole.
Jahmyr Gibbs (0)
David Montgomery (5)
Craig Reynolds (13)
Sione Vaki (33) – Returned to train this week (hamstrings)
Jacob Saylier (48)
Deon Jackson (36) – Signed this week
Hurt list::
Kye Robichaux * (25) – (ir – shoulder)
Reynolds started each of the two pre-season games of the Lions, but he could rest this week if Vaki is considered healthy enough to play-he missed the two games with an ischio-injury injury. Vaki returned to train this week, and Campbell said that the plan was to see what he could manage and continue to give him more until he was full. As long as he has undergone any setbacks, Vaki could allow Reynolds to take a break this week, or at least, reduce his number of snaps.
Saylier and Jackson appear to get work in the second half, although it is possible to run with the second team, because he impressed Campbell with his ability to inform with the offensive quickly and not to make mistakes.
“I thought what Saylier did the other day was quite coéritulated and he is in a way a cunning back and there is something to say about it,” Campbell said on Thursday. “Smart Guy, understands Ball, really had an intensive course on what we were doing and really had no mas (missed assignments), which is quite impressive.”
WR-YY AMON-RA St. Brown (14)
WR-Z Jameson Williams (1)
WR-X Tim Patrick (12) – Wounded (not disclosed)
Kalif Raymond (11)
Isaac Teslaa * (18)
Jackson Meeks * (83)
Tom Kennedy (85) – returned to train on Thursday (not disclosed)
Dominic Lovett * (19) – returned to train Thursday (abdominal injury)
Ronnie Bell (10)
Jakobie Keeney-James * (80)
Malik Taylor (86) – Wounded (not disclosed)
Teslaa, Kennedy and Lovett started against the charge, then Meeks joined the starters for the Falcons match with Livett seated due to an abdominal injury. Lovett returned to this week’s last training, just like Kennedy, who missed two training sessions, but we do not know if one or the other is ready to return with the departure group for the moment. Bell also pleaded to start dolphins with his recent room, as he has shown the possibility of entering several situations and proved to be productive.
At the end of the line, beyond Teslaa, the other starting points could be won.
Te Sam Laporta (87) – Wounded (not disclosed))
Te Brock Wright (89)
Te Shane Zylstra (84)
Te / HB Zach Horton * (40)
Te Steven Stilianos (43) – Signed this week
Te Gunnar Oakes (41) – Signed this week
Hurt list::
Te Kenny Yeboah (88) – injured reserve
Zylstra and Horton seem to be in a two -ended race for the role of TE3, now that Yeboah has been placed on injured reserve. The new arrivals Stilianos and Oakes will have to impress to enter the race and try more likely to make it enough to justify a place in the training team.
LT Taylor Decker (68)
LG Christian Mahany (73)
C Graham Glasgow (60)
RG TATE RATLEDGE * (69)
RT Penei Sewell (58)
Planned to start the offensive line for this game
LT Dan Skipper (70)
LG Netane Muti (52)
C Kingsley Eguakun (65)
RG Kayode Awosika (74)
RT Jamarco Jones (72)
Projected reserves
Lieutenant Giovanni Manu (58) – did not practice Thursday (not disclosed)
C / G Trystan Colon (67) – Wounded (elbow)
RT Gunner Britton (78) – Signed this week
C / G Michael Niese (62)
OT / G Mason Miller * (63)
IOL / T Zack Johnson (77) – Signed Thursday
List of injured:
G Miles Frazier * (71) – Assets / puppy, Target return date: September
G / T COLBY SORSDAL (75) – Injured reserve
OT Justin Herron (76) – injured reserve
G / C Keaton Sutherland (74) – Signed this week – injured reserve
Injuries that the colonist and other depth players have complicated things along the offensive line. If the lions want to rest their starters and their injured players, they will end up with only nine editors of offensive lines, which means that one of their players may have to draw the double duty. However, if the Lions choose to play the Tate Ratledge recruit again this week, they could roll two lines. But it is difficult to say if the Lions would do it, since Campbell already believes that Ratledge “plays like a guard of the NFL which begins”.
Aidan Hutchinson (97)
Marcus Davenport (92)
Al-Quadin Muhammad (96)
Nate Lynn (57)
Ahmed Hassanein * (61) – Avoidance of injury (the lower leg)
Isaac Ukwu (45)
Mitchell AGUDE (50)
List of injured:
Josh Paschal (93) Active / NFI, Target return date: September
Muhammad seems to consolidate a whole place on the list of 53 men, especially after Campbell rented his game in the camp, noting that “he brings us security”. Hassanein should also make the active list, even if he is resting behind Nate Lynn at the moment. Lynn simply did more than take a place among the best group and pushes hard for a place on the list of the regular season. Campbell noted that Lynn was still in strong competition with the Ukwu and Agude, and praised the three in press conferences this week.
NT DJ Reader (98)
3T Tyleik Williams * (91)
NT Roy Lopez (51)
DL Pat O’Connor (95) – returned to training Thursday (leg)
DL Chris Smith (90)
DL Keith Cooper * (64)
DL Myles Adams (66)
NT Brodric Martin (99)
Hurt:
DT Alim McNeill (54) Active / puppy, Target return date: October
DL Mekhi Wingo (94) Active / Pup, Target Back Date: September
Lopez is not technically a starter, but he has not yet played in pre-season, and O’Connor has just returned to train on Thursday, so it’s just to wonder if he also gets the treatment of the veteran rest. However, if the Lions choose not to play Williams this week – which seems likely – they can ask O’Connor to try to try it. At the same time, it would not be surprising that Chris Smith and Keith Cooper get departures this week.
Mike Jack Campbell (46)
Will Alex Anzalone (34)
Sam Derrick Barnes (55)
Will / Mike Zach Cunningham (52)
Will grant Stuard (15)
Sam / Mike Trevor Nowaske (53)
Mike Anthony Pittman (41)
Will Ezekiel Turner (47)
Mike / Will Daron Gilbert (43)
Hurt:
Will Malcolm Rodriguez (44) Active / puppy, Target return date: October
Lions secondors should deploy in a similar way to the way they have done so in previous weeks. Cunningham, Stuard and Nowaske should start in their main positions, Nowaske getting time at Mike after Cunningham outings. Pittman, Turner and Gilbert hope for more playing time this week after their time was interrupted the last match.
CB Terrion Arnold (6) – Go back to train this week (hamstrings)
CB DJ Reed (4)
NB / CB Amik Robertson (21)
CB / NB / S Erick Hallett (36)
CB Nick Whiteside (38)
CB Tyson Russell (35)
CB DJ Miller (42) – Signed last week
CB Luq Barcoo (40) – Signed last week
CB Allan George (25) – Signed Thursday
List of injured:
CB Khalil Dorsey (30) Active / puppy, Target return date: “late camp”
CB Dicaprio Bootle (17) – Injured reserve (lower leg)
With Bootle landing on the injured reserve, look for Whiteside to enter the departure training for this match. According to the construction of the list, the Lions can seek to keep one of the six reserves which should play against the Dolphins, and Whiteside could very well be the main candidate for the role. Hallett is also firmly in this competition, and if he continues his model of positional versatility, seek him to play outside at the start of the game, then go through the slit later. Miller, Barcoo and George have not yet played in pre-season for Lions, so they will seek to stand out from coaches.
S Brich Brian (32)
S Kerby Joseph (31)
CB / S / NB Rock Ya -Sin (23) – was trained in the cross in safety and CB
S / nb avonte maddox (29)
S / nb morice norris (26) – injured (brain concussion) – should miss the rest of the pre -season
S Loren Strickland (24)
S Ian Kennelly * (27)
I transferred Ya-Sin to the security group this week, when he continues to take representatives there to gain experience. I do not think it will be a change in permanent position, but he plays well enough for him to make a coveted player. With Norris still in the concussion protocol, Maddox could come out of the slit and return to a pure security role in this game. However, if the Lions choose to continue using it as a niche option, a rotation of Strickland and Kennelly could be in order.
P Jack Fox (3)
K Jake Bates (39)
LS HOGAN HATTTEN (49)
Without competition in the camp, the three will have to play in pre-season.
