Q2 – P1 again for Piastri, Albon just lacks
The action continued at the rate at the beginning of Q2, with a number of drivers who go early on the soft tires for their first races. Verstappen initially established the rhythm before Norris launched himself to take P1 with a margin of three tenths of the Dutch.
This photo has changed again when Piastri went even faster, the Australian beat his teammate by 0.058 thanks to his knees of 1m 11.998. People at risk after the opening races, on the other hand, were Bortoleto, Lawson, Albon, Stroll and Bearman.
“I am happy to tow Kimi if necessary,” said Russell, fourth, the Briton who apparently wanted to help the other Mercedes car from Antonelli – currently sitting in P9 – to progress to Q3.
While the session entered its last minutes, Antonelli was among those to return to the track – but there was no sign of Russell, or one of the first five, while the rest of the field was fighting.
Stroll could not improve its previous efforts, and Lawson. Elsewhere, there was a pressure for the other Hadjar Bulls racing cars – but the Frenchman went impressively in the sixth. A compatriot recruit Bortoleto missed in P12, while Bearman could not improve either.
The other driver in the second trimester was Albon, the Williams driver coming out in P11 after missing the cup of only three hundredths. The Thai pilot expressed his misfortune about Bearman’s Haas before him as he crossed the line, accusing the American team of running “slowly in the 3rd sector”.
