2025 Pre-season week 2 Rapid reactions: Seahawks exceed the Kansas City chiefs in 33-16 pre-season victory

When the Seahawks started the offensive, minus a few players dealing with injuries, took the ground for the first time this pre-season, Sam Darnold presented to Zach Charbonnet, and thanks to a large blockage in front of him, he sprinted for a gain of 13 yards.

This game, and so many people who followed, set the tone for what was a physical and dominant pre-season victory for the Seahawks, who beat Kansas City 33-16 in Lumen Field.

Here are six quick reactions to Friday evening victory:

1. The starting offensive looks great in its brief appearance.

Sam Darnold made his pre-season debut with his new team on Friday evening, and although he and the rest of the starting offensive only made a brief cameo, it was an encouraging start.

With Zach Charbonnet opening the way on the ground and with Darnold Sharp in the air, the Seahawks walked 81 yards out of 10 games for a touch on the only possession of the game for Darnold, Charbonnet, Jaxon Smith-Migba, Cooper Kupp, Anthony Bradford, Gray Zabel, Abraham Lucas and several other superior offensive players.

Charbonnet transported five times, rushing on 45 yards, including a touch of 15 yards, and was the beneficiary of several large holes open by the offensive line and the tight ends. Darnold went four for four for 34 yards, finishing passes to Smith-Migba, AJ Barner, Robbie Ouzts and Elijah Arroyo.

This physical and efficient disc set the tone for what ended up being a great day for the Kubiak Klint offensive.
