Charlotte – A bad weather has appeased at the Quail Hollow Club while the 107th game in the PGA championship is finally in progress. With the deepest field of the season, the PGA 2025 championship could start with a 156 players field, but Thursday, it will be titled by a particular group. The three best players of the game will share a time of tee in the first two laps with Rory McILroy (the winner of the Slam in career and a quadruple champion of this course), the number 1 of the world Scottie Scheffler (in search of his first major championship of the convivial season) and the word to follow together.
Beyond these three, twice champion of the US Open Bryson Dechambeau and the double champion of the PGA Justin Thomas are among the favorites on the field. Thomas won the Wanamaker trophy the last time this tournament was played at Quail Hollow in 2017. Meanwhile, Jordan Spieth was looking for the last missing trophy in his major championship coat. Will the golden child become a man made and will he follow the heroism of the masters of McILroy with some of his family in the PGA championship to complete the big career chelem? The answer may not be revealed on Thursday, but the first 18 holes will provide many clues.
