Jalen Hurts says he’s on track to start for the Philadelphia Eagles in Sunday’s NFC Championship against the Washington Commanders. The Eagles took a walkthrough Wednesday, listing Hurts as a limited participant dealing with a knee injury.
“It’s progressing,” Hurts said. “Taking things one day at a time. I was able to participate and get involved in things. Taking things one day at a time.”
Hurts injured his knee in the third quarter of Sunday’s NFC divisional round win over the Los Angeles Rams. The Eagles quarterback was 3 of 3 for 19 yards after the injury. He ran for -1 yard and took two sacks, including a safety for holding the ball too long.
The Eagles had 101 yards passing and averaged 5.6 yards per play after the injury, but the passing game was the biggest concern. Philadelphia had -1 passing yards and -0.3 yards per attempt (sacks are factored into net passing yards and attempts). A snow-covered Lincoln Financial Field played a role, as did a hobbled Hurts.

Hurts was noncommittal on his mobility due to his knee injury and how it will affect the Eagles’ offense. The veteran quarterback won’t give anything away either, although commanders aren’t sure how his injury will change the team dynamic.
“Every game is different, so I’ll take it one day at a time,” Hurts said. “I’m just going to keep progressing.”
Hurts suffered an ankle injury, a shoulder injury, a dislocated finger, a concussion and a knee injury in December or January in each of his four full seasons as a quarterback leaving. He doesn’t think it was the result of bad luck, nor the way he played.
“It’s part of the game,” Hurts said. “I accept everything that entails. Ultimately, you have to make the adjustments necessary to play at a high level. There will be no excuses to get in or out.”
