The second weekend of the NCAA tournament continued on Friday with four exciting games that reduced the Sweet 16 Field to the Elite Eight.
The seeded n ° 1 Houston survived an upset offer on the seeded n ° 4 after the goalkeeper Milos Uzan made a winning lay-up with 0.9 seconds to play. The seeded n ° 2 of Tennessee obtained a redemption against the seeded n ° 3 of Kentucky with a 78-65 victory at a double-double (18 points, 10 assists) of the star goalkeeper Zakai Zeigler. The volunteers abandoned the two regular season meetings against the Wildcats, but in the end, they won the match that had the most.
The Tennessee will face Houston in the first Elite Eight match of the day on Sunday while the program asks for its first trip in the Final Four. The volunteers lost in the Elite Eight last spring against the possible national purdue finalist.
The seeded n ° 1 Auburn survived a test of the seed n ° 5 of Michigan to advance while the program is looking for its second appearance in the Final Four. After dragging up to nine points in the second half, Auburn beat Michigan 78-65 behind great performances by Johni Broome and Tahaad Pettiford. The seeded n ° 2 of Michigan State was hanging up to 10 points with less than 4 minutes to play in the first half, but rallied for a 73-70 victory against the seeded n ° 6 Ole Miss.
The Spartans will face Auburn in the Elite Eight on Sunday.
