2025 Grammys not postponed amid fires, but will support wildfire relief

The 2025 Grammy Awards will still take place on February 2 in Los Angeles and the telecast will raise funds to support wildfire relief efforts.

The show will be broadcast live from the Crypto.com Arena, where Beyoncé is the leading contender with 10 nominations. Other multiple Grammy nominees include Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, Post Malone, Sabrina Carpenter, Kendrick Lamar and Chappell Roan.

“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. This city is our home, and we mourn the loss of life and destruction that has occurred here in recent days,” said Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and Board Chair Tammy Hurt. in a letter sent to the Academy. members Monday. “In close coordination with local authorities to ensure public safety and responsible use of area resources, the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on CBS on February 2 will proceed as scheduled. This year’s show, however, will have a renewed meaning: raising additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honoring the courage and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours.

Dear members of the Recording Academy,

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. This city is our home and we mourn the loss of life and destruction that has been inflicted on it in recent days.

In response to this crisis, the Recording Academy and MusiCares launched the Los Angeles wildfire relief effort last week with an initial $1 million donation to support creatives and music professionals. With additional contributions, we have already distributed more than $2 million in emergency assistance to those who need it most – and we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing continued assistance.

In close coordination with local authorities to ensure public safety and responsible use of area resources, the 67th GRAMMY Awards, broadcast on CBS on February 2, will proceed as scheduled. This year’s exhibit, however, will carry a renewed meaning: to raise additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honor the courage and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours.

In difficult times, music has the power to heal, comfort and unite like nothing else. The GRAMMYs will not only honor the artistry and achievements of our music community, but also serve as a platform to amplify the spirit of resilience that defines this great city of Los Angeles.
