2024 Women’s Gymnastics Olympics Schedule – NBC Chicago

Simone Biles and the U.S. women’s gymnastics team are set to compete again this week after taking center stage Sunday with strong scores in qualifying at Bercy Arena in Paris.

During her stunning beam routine on Sunday, Biles, who was suffering from leg discomfort, even brought tears to the eyes of celebrities in the audience.

Biles, the most decorated athlete in gymnastics history, is seeking her fifth Olympic gold medal and seventh overall. At the 2020 Tokyo Games, she won two medals in Tokyo despite withdrawing from the all-around competition to focus on her mental health.

With Sunday behind us, Team USA is turning its attention to Tuesday, July 30, which will host the women’s artistic gymnastics team finals. Biles, along with Suni Lee, is expected to return on Thursday, August 1, to compete in the women’s all-around finals.

The events will air live on NBC 5 and then replay in prime time. The events will also be streamed on Peacock.

Biles ready to perform new skill at 2024 Olympics

Biles, a seven-time Olympic medalist, submitted an original uneven bars skill to the FIG Women’s Technical Committee for evaluation last week, according to NBC Olympics.

This skill is a variation of her Weiler Half Drill that she performs regularly, but includes a clear forward hip circle with 1.5 turns.

If she succeeds, she could leave the Paris 2024 Olympics with a new skill named after her in the Code of Points, a feat that would mean there would be a “Biles” round in every event.

Biles currently has skills named after her on vault, beam and floor. This new skill would be her sixth, but first on uneven bars.

See the new skill here.
