Men’s 200m heats


Noah Lyles The reigning 200m world champion had already secured his place in Paris in the 100m final, but he had already announced his intention to compete for four gold medals at these Olympics. Looking to secure his place in the Paris 200m, Lyles clocked 20.10 seconds in his heat. Lyles is also the reigning Olympic bronze medalist in the 200m.

“Everything seems to be going well at the moment,” Lyles said after his landslide victory.

Courtney Lindsey, Kenny Bednarek And Erriyon Knighton also won their heats and will participate in the semi-final. Bednarek is also already on his way to Paris thanks to his second place in the men’s 100m final.

Christian Colemanwho was widely tipped to clinch a spot at the Olympics in the 100m but finished fourth in the final, is in contention for a 200m qualification. He finished second in his heat, posting a time of 20.30 seconds.
