2024 Republican National Convention Speaker List Revealed

By

UPDATE (July 13, 2024, 5:34 p.m. ET): NBC News reports that former South Carolina governor, Nikki Haley The Republican senator has indeed been invited to speak at the Republican National Convention next week. Citing two unnamed sources, NBC News says details have not yet been finalized. The RNC, the Trump campaign and Haley’s camp did not immediately respond to NBC’s request for comment.

The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee have released a list of headliners and keynote speakers for next week’s convention in Milwaukee, where Donald Trump is expected to once again accept the party’s nomination for president.

The list includes dozens of Republican lawmakers and candidates, including the four people who are reportedly at the top of Trump’s vice presidential shortlist: Sens. Marco Rubio, J.D. Vance and Tim Scott, as well as North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum. (Trump has described the process for selecting his running mate as a “highly sophisticated version of The Apprentice.”) Some of Trump’s most ardent supporters in Congress, including Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz and Elise Stefanik, are also expected to speak. Former Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro, who is currently serving a four-month prison sentence for defying a congressional subpoena, is also on the list. The Associated Press reports that he is expected to be released on July 17, which “would give him just enough time to get on a plane and get to Milwaukee before the convention ends Thursday.”

Non-political figures on the list include social media maven Tucker Carlson, country singer Lee Greenwood, Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White and model and television personality Amber Rose. Notably absent is former South Carolina governor and presidential candidate Nikki Haley, who was not invited, unlike other 2024 contenders Gov. Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy.

Trump’s two adult sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, will also speak at the convention. The presumptive Republican nominee’s wife, Melania Trump, is not listed, but she is expected to attend the convention. Ivanka Trump is also not expected to headline any programs at the event, but her spokesperson told Vanity Fair that she will attend. Both women spoke at the 2016 and 2020 conventions.
