While presenting at the 2024 ACM Awards in Dallas on May 16, Noah Reid And Ashley McBryde joked about the “Last Night” singer a month after he was arrested for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct for allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of Chief’s Bar in Nashville. “Last night, after drinking a little alcohol, a chair right over there really started to annoy me,” Noah sang for a while on stage. “He told me I threw it at someone I’d never met and my publicist keeps telling me it’s not over yet.”

Ashley joked: “You should be smiling in the photo.”

Morgan, who did not attend the show, was booked by the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department in April. Two weeks later, the 31-year-old addressed the April 7 incident, sharing that he accepted full responsibility for his actions.

“I didn’t feel good in public until I made amends with some people,” Morgan wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) April 19. “I have contacted Nashville law enforcement, my family and the good people at Chief’s. I am not proud of my behavior and I accept responsibility.”
