20 passengers rescued from Disney California Adventure’s Incredicoaster theme park

Twenty people had to be escorted off the Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure park after the ride stopped on the tracks on Sunday.

The stop happened around 1:30 p.m. at the park located in Anaheim.

Runners were given umbrellas to protect them from the sun as they waited for rescue on a hot, sunny day, the Orange County Register reported, citing the OC Hawk news service.

Passengers were trapped on the attraction for more than an hour before being rescued by Disneyland employees wearing safety harnesses.

According to the Register, the 6,000-foot-long looping roller coaster underwent a seasonal renovation in March.

It is not known why the ride broke down or whether any injuries were reported.
