NATIONAL CITY —
A driver lost control of his car and crashed into two parked vehicles in National City Friday evening, killing himself and his passenger, police said.
The driver was heading north on Avenue D near East 18th Street at a high rate of speed when he crashed into the parked cars around 10:50 p.m., Lt. Vincent Fernando said in a news release.
Both men died before they could be transported to hospital.
Their names have been withheld pending notification of their families.
Fernando said it was unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. The accident is under investigation.
