2 injured after gunshot at Northeast Side funeral, SAPD says

Police said a bystander not involved in the altercation was struck by the bullet.

SAN ANTONIO – Two people were injured after an altercation at a funeral reception turned violent Saturday night in the Northeast, San Antonio police said.

One man pulled out a gun and struck the other with his gun after the two were involved in an altercation in the 9100 block of Perrin Beitel, police said.

During the alleged assault, police said the man accidentally fired his gun, hitting an uninvolved bystander.

Both the person shot and the person struck by the gun were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Police have not yet taken any suspects into custody.
