2 dead, 1 injured in high-speed car crash that ends at LAX

Two young men were killed and at least one was injured when their car left a highway in El Segundo and crashed into parked cars near LAX, authorities said.

Around 3 a.m. Saturday, the driver of a 2016 Lexus sedan was traveling westbound on I-105 and took the abrupt exit onto Nash Street at a high speed, the CHP said. The car hit a concrete barrier and ended up in the FedEx parking lot at LAX.

The Lexus struck a car and two pickup trucks before stopping, the CHP said.

The 19-year-old driver and an 18-year-old passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, also 19, suffered cuts and was taken to Westwood UCLA Medical Center.

All three were from the Moreno Valley.

The accident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the CHP at (310) 642-3939.
