2 days, Trump is back on his prices on Mexico

  • President Donald Trump makes some of his prices back on Mexico.
  • Trump said on Thursday that all Mexican products comply with USMCA are exempt from prices until April 2.
  • Trump did not have a similar announcement for Canada.

President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he granted a month’s price break to a larger range of Mexican products, just after giving car manufacturers an even more radical stay.

“After talking with President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico, I have agreed that Mexico will not be required to pay prices on all that relates to the USMCA agreement,” wrote Trump on Truth Social. “This agreement is until April 2. I did this as an accommodation and out of respect for President Sheinbaum.”

The USMCA, a trade agreement negotiated between the United States, Mexico and Canada during Trump’s first mandate to replace the Alena commercial pact, exempt most of the goods produced in the three countries signatory to most prices.

Trump did not immediately announce a similar agreement for Canada. Trump spoke on Wednesday to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday. Trudeau later said that it was a “colorful” conversation.

Trump’s brand new break adapts to the efforts of the White House to calm the markets. Wall Street’s actions tank after Trump decided to get ahead on Tuesday with his latest series of prices on Canada, Mexico and China before rebounding on Wednesday when the merchants seemed to hope that a new reduction in prices would be coming.

Stocks slipped Thursday, with weak technology Join pricing concerns to reduce S&P 500 up to 2% in afternoon trading.

The White House said that the first cycle of prices was linked to Trump’s frustration with regard to nations that did not do more to stop the propagation of fentanyl. The leaders of the three countries challenged this assertion.

The White House said that the 3 major American automakers – General Motors, Ford and Stellantis – asked for the previous exemption for cars. This exemption also applies to Canadian car imports. At the time, the White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump was open to other transactions.

Another tariff cycle targeting foreign agricultural goods and other products should come into force on April 2. During his spouse in the congress, Trump mentioned South Korea, India and the European Union as a potential target for the same as he considers unfair trade relations.

China and Canada immediately responded to Tuesday’s announcement with their own reprisal rates. Mexico was originally to implement their measures on Sunday.

Beijing has made a particular exception to Trump’s actions. The American Embassy of China wrote on X that it was ready for a “war” of all kinds.
