A 16 -year -old boy was arrested on Friday, suspected of running and killing a man who was trying to stop the display thieves in his brother’s store in South El Monte at the beginning of the month, the authorities announced.
Kourosh “Steve” Yaghoubi, 60, was killed after having confronted the display thieves in the giant family reduction store of his brother on April 9. The teenager would have run over Yaghoubi while young people and others have fled, the police said. It is not known if the teenager was inside the store at any time of the incident.
Yaghoubi was unconscious and suffered from a blunt trauma when the authorities arrived, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Department of the County of Los Angeles.

The detectives found the vehicle used as a flight car, which led them to the 16 -year -old suspect, the authorities wrote in a press release. Because the suspect is a minor, the authorities will not free his name.

Authorities are still trying to identify several other people who were in the vehicle at the time of the flight.
