The bus was carrying about 100 people

Rewa:

At least 15 people have been killed and 40 others injured after a bus carrying them collided with a truck in Rewa in Madhya Pradesh.

The bus, with around 100 people on board, was en route to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, when it collided with a truck parked near Suhagi Pahari in Rewa.

The injured were rushed to Suhagi District Hospital, while the seriously injured are being treated at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa.

Navneet Bhasin, Superintendent of Police, said most of the people traveling on the bus were laborers from Uttar Pradesh who had boarded the bus from Katni in Madhya Pradesh.

They had come to Katni from Hyderabad on a separate bus, officials said, adding that they were returning home to celebrate Diwali.

Sources say a passerby informed the police of the accident.
