China has experienced a summer of extreme weather, with flash floods in the north and southwest.
A tropical storm hit the country last week.
Gaemi’s cyclonic winds, downgraded to a typhoon, had largely dissipated by July 28, but many parts of China remained on alert for flooding risks from earlier rains.
The remnants of Gaemi could dump more rain on already flooded towns, forecasters warned.
