What should you bring to your birthday party? The answer, of course, is what you want. (It’s your day!) That said, the pressure to seem well while celebrating another tour of the sun with friends and the family is understandable – after all, all eyes and cameras will be on you. Choosing an outfit that is just going to really enjoy all this additional attention.
Exactly which says that the look should include, of course, depends strongly on your personal taste and the type of festivities you have planned. But according to Elizabeth Tamkin, stylist and voice behind the corner stand, there are some general guidelines that can help you reduce all your choices. “Because a birthday is a celebration, I leaned over a little color rather than all the dark,” she said. “This does not mean that you should wear the chromatic wheel: mix your neutral – black included – with primary or secondary colors.”
From there, she advises to pay particular attention to a balance of silhouettes (for example, something bulky at the top and elegant at the bottom or a voluminous skirt or pants with an adjusted shirt) and to choose a shoe worthy of a party. “Even if you are going to go relaxed with your clothes, such as jeans and a t-shirt and a bit of pearls, add a small kitten heel mule to make your outfit higher and thoughtful,” she suggests. “A shoe with a small altitude will also make you stay a little bigger and you feel special.”
It also helps, of course, have some inspiring references to cause creative juices to flow. Find 15 large below, all extracts from the cupboards of Instructionfavorite celebrities.

If you are not the type to wear a brilliant dress, look at the top of the dua lipa hardware for inspiration: it has enough brilliant silver embellishment to signify that you are the guest of honor, but feels more nervous than, say, a mini or a glitter LBD. And even if it looked incredible with dark washing jeans, remember to associate it with leather pants like Lipa does here. It is such a cool combination and streetwise.

For a more feminine vision of the birthday style, look at the Lily James pea number (worn to celebrate her 35th, no less). Although the motif itself is quite classic, it feels fresh here thanks to the way it is printed on a transparent and delicately draped and superimposed fabric to create a visual depth.

Keep your festivities discreet? The discreet (but still sexy rather sexy look of Emily Ratakowski (but quite sexy) is just the thing to wear. Everything you need is relaxed black pants, a slightly asymmetrical high and, of course, a small Minxy shoulder bag – your best bet is something in bright cherry red.

While a camisole top basic dress always works for a party, plan to exchange your choice for something with a surprise element. The crossed neckline on this silhouette, as spotted on Olivia Rodrigo, makes it instantly interesting and special, even if the design itself is actually rationalized and simple. Elegant silver accessories only emphasize the effect.

Although stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson has wore this shirt and a matching knitting skirt to celebrate someone else’s birthday (Gigi Hadid, NBD), the look would work just as well for its own big day. The key is to dress it with imposing heels and a matching lipstick.

If you are the type that likes a lot of attention for your birthday – and a matching massive eruption party – go for a mini -gala of Met Gala from the Hailey Bieber. Because this kind of style is such a show cap, you will want to keep it with a minimum of accessories (think of the mules to put on and an adorable clutch) which does not distract.

The mini glitter skirts are required to go out in general, of course. But if you really want to distinguish yours, take a Keke Palmer and wear it with a top headband. (His own have flexible sleeves attached, but you can get the same atmosphere by a strap-free bra and a boulo shoulder rose).

Although tight black capis are not like the most intuitive choice for a birthday look, Bella Hadid makes a strong case here. His thing? By joining the silhouette often unloved with a matching and elegantly draped licou and stilettos, she made the lines of her silhouette even longer and more winding than they are already.

Do not reduce the power of a mini mini in blunders, Bubblegum or Fuchsia! As Laura Harrier skillfully displays it here, it does not hurt if this party dress also has a hint of flicker – just the thing to catch a little light on the photos (or on the dance floor).

Fashion Nerds, this one for you: a totally pure skirt superimposed with opaque black memories and a belted knit can be read as something directly from the track – but always feels irreverent and fairly carefree for a party. Depending on what the event implies, you can combine it with heels or a pair of moccasins ready for the dance floor.

If you want to lie, choose something with a daring pattern or less than the traditional cut – or, as Zendaya is displayed here, both. He will feel polite, but more appropriate for a party environment.

Do you instantly want to make your outfit feels about 1000 times more glamorous? Throw a fake-brings jacket on the top. The bonus points if the thing you throw it already feels soft and opulent, like the shift in Zoe Kravitz’s silk here.

A glitter mini-robe is an obvious choice for a birthday party. However, if you want to make it a little more singular, follow Hunter Schaffer’s advance and associate it with a pair of sculptural pumps with the same sparkling texture.

Unless you plan a black tie affair, the best way to make a dress of dress feels good for a party is to choose one that incorporates some fun elements. Rachel Zegler perfectly nailed this idea via a maxi ruche with a sweet blue lipstick pattern.

Denim is definitely feasible for a more relaxed case, although you want the Zhush with a shirt and shoes that seem appropriate for night activities. Kiernan Shipka has this formula to a science via his black jeans and his lace, barely-that is to say Bustier. And even if it was for big platform moccasins (a good choice if there will be dance), the little heels of Flirty kitten would also be an excellent choice of shoes.
