Twelve people with southern California links are part of the cases registered so far this year against the so -called drug traffickers accused of selling fentanyl and fentanyl pills each with the death of at least one person, announced on Thursday May 15.
According to the centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Residents of southern California accused of the distribution of fentanyl leading to a death, as announced in the press release from the American prosecutor’s office, in particular:
- Michael Hoskinds, 46, from San Pedro, was arrested on April 8 on August 12, 2023, the prosecutors said. Hoskinds would have distributed the opioid to someone from the County of Los Angeles who overdosed there and died later. Hoskinds pleaded not guilty.
- Waldo Jesus Almazo Casarubbias, 22, from Santa Ana, arrested on April 11. He would have distributed drugs to the victim on July 5, 2022 in the County of Orange. The victim died. Casarubbias pleaded not guilty.
- Roberto Alexis Perez, 26, from Palmdale, accused of having distributed fentanyl on September 3, 2022, in the county of the, causing a death.
- Kevin Lopez, 24, from Rancho Cucamonga, Jacqueline Carolina Fonseca-Flores, 24, from Rancho Cucamonga, and Brandon Ryan Osika, 22, from Ontario, in charge of the fentanyl distribution to a 21-year-old person, which resulted in death, among other drug crimes. The defendants – including Meloney Osika, 24, from Ontario, who was also arrested on May 7 – would have led a fentanyl distribution ring in the county of San Bernardino. The defendants pleaded not guilty.
- Myles Ray Miller, 27, of Fullerton, accused of distribution of fentanyl leading to death and a chief of possession with intention of distributing fentanyl. He would have distributed fentanyl to someone struggling with a drug addiction to Fullerton on March 18, 2022. They died after having ingested the opioid.
- Michel Joseph Abdallah, 21, also known as “Mike”, of Laguna Niguel, accused of two fentanyl distribution leaders driving death, two chiefs of possession with the intention of distributing fentanyl and two chiefs of possession of a firearm in the pursuit of drug trafficking crimes. According to the press release, he distributed fentanyl to a victim on March 25, 2023 at Mission Viejo who took drugs and was fatally overdosed. Abdallah again distributed fentanyl on May 15, 2023 in Aliso Viejo to another victim deceased after having ingested the drug. He would have owned a total of almost three pounds from the synthetic opioid and two firearms – including an AR -15 -5 -5 -rate pistol without a serial number or a “ghost pistol” – June 10, 2023.
- Alexander Nihar Biswas, 42, of Loma Linda, would have distributed the drug to a victim of the County of San Bernardino who died later after having used it in January 2024. Biswas pleaded not guilty.
- Jesus Erick Casillas, 56, of Lancaster, is accused of fatal overdose in the County of Los Angeles in January 2024. Casillas pleaded not guilty.
- Michael McDevitt, 43, from Sim Valley, would have distributed the medication in September 2021 to a person from the county of Ventura who died later. McDevitt is also accused of possession with intention of distributing methamphetamine. He pleaded not guilty.
- Macey Delynn Putnam, 31, from Laungsburg, Michigan and formerly of Torrance, accused of a link with a fatal fentanyl overdose of July 24, 2024 of a person in the county of. Putnam is accused of distributing fentanyl that has led to death and serious bodily injuries. She pleaded not guilty.
The fentanyl distribution accusation leading to death leads to a compulsory minimum sentence of 20 years in federal prison and a maximum legal perpetuity prison sentence.
