I really liked purple as a main character. She is not this mastered heroine – she has trouble, being constantly doubted, and you are simply rooted to prove that everyone is wrong. It is intelligent and difficult in a way that seems credible. And the dragons are honestly some of my favorite parts – they have personalities, they are sassy and they add so much to the story.
Also, romance? So good. It is a slow construction with a tension that seems natural, not forced. The jokes and the chemistry between Violet and Xaden felt authentic, and I actually cared of both as a characters, not only in a relationship.
